Went to church today. Paddy’s Wigwam, (Catholic Cathedral, Top Half) was built on top of the Crypt designed by Edwin Lutyens in 1930 as the first part of what was to be the largest cathedral in the world. Work stopped during World War II. After the war the climate of austerity, changing fashions & the huge cost made the original proposal unacceptable. The Crypt is massive, the pic is just one of two parallel galleries this one contains the treasury. The tapestry is in three parts each section stands proud of the section above thus creating a greater depth of field.
Just down the road is the Philharmonic, Boy what a Pub. Good food & a fab atmosphere.
